Jason Doyle Bio

A hugely popular motorcycle speedway name, Jason Doyle is an Australian rider widely considered one of the best in the competition. A World Champion from two years ago, Doyle has an impressive resume which also includes titles in the South Australian Championship and others. Doyle is a member of the Australian national speedway team and well known for his unrelenting passion as a rider.

Jason Doyle won his first Grand Prix in 2016 at the Prague GP. He’s the third rider in the history of motorcycle speedway races to win three GPs in a row. Still, that didn’t bring the Australian rider the title in 2016. Shortly after the three wins in a row, he suffered a crash in which he injured his lungs and dislocated his shoulder, officially withdrawing from the competition before the final race. To make things worse, Doyle was at the top of the standings at the time.

But, you know how they say – good things come to those who wait. This was certainly true in Jason Doyle’s case. After narrowly missing out on the 2016 championship, Doyle clinched the 2017 title in superb fashion, dropping only 2 points during the whole meeting. The feat is even more impressive when you learn that Doyle rode with a broken foot for almost the whole season, winning the Czech Republic GP in the process.

On a team level, Doyle has earned numerous individual and team honours. Currently riding for Swindon Robins in the British League, Apator Torun in the Polish league, and Rospiggarna in the Swedish League, Doyle intends to dominate each competition he enters.

In 2019, Doyle will make his long-awaited return to his parent club Swindon after a year away. It’s fair to say that he’s among the legends of this famed team along with the likes of Leigh Adams and Jason Crump among others. Alun Rossiter, Swindon’s team manager, is certainly happy to have the former world champion back in the fold. Expectations are huge for the Australian rider, who will certainly have a hard time dethroning current champion Tai Woffinden.

But, if anyone is up to the challenge, it’s Jason Doyle, one of the finest motorcycle speedway riders to grace the circuit.
